Local News for Friday the 10th of December.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Final Flood Warning this morning for the Macleay River

at Georges Creek which peaked below the minor flood level and is falling.

No further flooding is expected along the Macleay and Manning Rivers.

There were 13 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the Mid North Coast Local Health District on Wednesday.

- 10 cases are from the Port Macquarie, 2 are from Coffs Harbour and 1 from Kempsey.

- 4 of the cases are linked to a known case or cluster, 2 are household contacts of a confirmed case and 7 are under investigation.

There are 68 active cases throughout the District.

The NSW Government has launched its Regional Youth Radio program yesterday to give young people in the bush more opportunities to be heard

and to better connect with their community.

Up to $100,000 is available for new projects that enable young people to lead and participate in youth radio and podcasting activities.

Eligible applicants can apply for one-off grants between $2,500 and $20,000 to develop programs that promote training, skills development and

content creation, or to fund essential equipment to support youth radio and podcasting.

Applications are now open and close 28 January 2022.

The latest SPORTS FIELDS UPDATE has all fields in Kempsey open, South West Rocks – Open, and Willawarrin,

Crescent Head and Frederickton all closed.

Rankine Street, Crescent Head will be closed for night work between East Street and Scott Street from 7pm – 6am on Sunday and Monday,

to complete asphalting. Traffic control and detours will be in place.

The Kempsey Country Women's Association is partnering with St Vincent De Paul for a Great Christmas Bake Off to celebrate the festive season today

and tomorrow.

The categories include best Christmas treat (U14s category), best Christmas themed cupcake and best plain/chocolate Christmas themed cake.

Baked submissions can be brought to the Kempsey CWA Hall today from 3pm-5pm and Tomorrow, December 11th from 9am-10am.

Entry is free for everyone and there are some great prizes on offer.

Crescent Head Surf Life Saving Club will be holding a public event this Sunday to celebrate it's centenary.

The event is open from 10am until 6pm, and the club is inviting everyone to come along for a chat and to have a look at their rich history.
